This is part of a series where the artist combined a selection of Shirakawa, Japan travel photographs taken by his
wite with his paintings.
The photograph was taken during winter in Shirakawa-go towards the end of winter. While the trees remained dormant, there were stintings of live which is accentuated through my use of lines depicting both nature and man.
