Life 5

First Flight of Twiggy

This art captures the moment I first laid eyes on Twiggy. Twiggy is a little chick that was born in one of the holes along the surface of my studio wall. From the moment it hatched I had been hearing the sounds from Twiggy and its family up to the point when I first saw Twiggy during its flying lesson with its parents. Initially I was rather annoyed and frustrated by the noisy chirping but after a while, I got used to it and would give the side panel wall a slight knock each time I get into the studio to say hi to that little family.

Hearing the family and finally watching the last lesson before Twiggy goes off into the world independently reminded me about parental and familial love. It inspired me to draw this piece and stands as a reminder of this precious love. At times with the hustle and bustle of life, we tend to forget our roots and what is truly important until the moment has long passed or is no longer retrievable.
